Enchiladas Y Mas

"As a native Houstonian, I’ve always been puzzled by Austin’s TexMex scene. Enchiladas Y Mas solved my problem. It’s a classic, no frills, just excellent food, service, and atmosphere. My family and I dined here on a busy weekday evening and were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Highlights from the meal included prompt, friendly service, great queso, and fabulous migas (they serve breakfast all day). My well margarita was excellent. Kids menu as well!"

"I've been going to this place for nearly 20 years now. Is it the most amazing food you'll ever try? No. It is an old school tex mex joint, that's stayed true to itself. The staff are friendly, the margaritas are strong and some of the best frozen ones you'll find, and the atmosphere feels like home to me. I won't say that all of their food is great, but what they do well, they do VERY well. Their enchiladas are amazing. The Enchiladas Rancheros is my favorite but don't sleep on their other enchiladas, especially if you can add their sour cream sauce. Their migas, which oddly enough, does not come with cheese unless you request it, is the best I've ever had. So make sure you add cheese and chorizo to it. Their salsa is very spicey but very good. You can ask for a mild salsa, and it's also very good. Their queso rules, and their large guac is a big portion and very good. Don't go to this place expecting it to be Fonda San Miguel. It's not. Enchiladas Y Mas is a dive...and it pull sit off as good as you could hope."

"i went here the other night with my boyfriend and thought that it was alright :-) we arrived at around 6pm and put our names down, arriving back at around 6:45pm. to be fair, it was a friday night, so it was very busy! lots of cars— parking lot was full. we get sat down and are given some complimentary chips and dip, which is always a great start! the vibe inside was very family-style, kind of reminding me of a classic new jersey diner. we wanted to try this place out 1. because it’s quite local to where we live and 2. because the prices were great, especially given the amount of food it looked like we were going to get. my boyfriend ordered the comida regular while i got chicken enchiladas with salsa verde (both pictured). the food didn’t take too long— his taco came first, and then both of our main plates. by the way, when the server tells you the plate is hot, they MEAN IT— i got a nasty burn on my finger thinking it was going to be less hot than it actually was. the food itself was, honestly, just okay. nothing in particular stood out to me. that isn’t to say it wasn’t GOOD, it just was very regular. my boyfriend felt about the same. would we come back? maybe, if we wanted a filling meal without spending a lot. pretty middle of the road honestly."
